Not only did we have another trip into town today this evening we went to watch the light show on the Minster this evening.

It was so magical to be out there and see them projected onto the front of the minster. Dilly loved being out with us, but wasn't so keen on the crowds of people.
Today has been the best shopping day that I have had for years ... Went into York and shopped till we dropped ... our bags filled the dining room table when we got home!
Got more decorations and more Christmas gifts. I thought Tanya and I had done really well ... 6 hours of lovely shopping only to find out that my other sister in law and her mum totally beat us ....... 12 hours at Bluewater ... they must have spent a fortune! hehe

So this weeks Folksy Friday is YORK with a little bit of Yorkshire thrown in too!
A ~ Yorkshire Tea Book by NANT DESIGNS

week 8
:: time ::

more time photos ...

Had a lovely relaxing day chillin with Tanya and Sam.

Watched a film and generally relaxed ... Mum and dad called in on their way to Bradford to see Luke & Ruth and dropped Dilly-Dolly-Dog off ... it was so lovely to see her ... I've missed her the last few days.

Lovely day today ... traveled to York this morning and went to a Christmas wonder world at a garden centre ... bought some decorations and a couple of Christmas presents. They wouldn't let us on the bus home though cos we had a buggy (with Sam in it) ended up getting a taxi which was probably best anyway ... we then had takeaway chips and battered sausages for tea ... yumm!

I have been working my way through Road To Avonlea over the last few weeks ... very heartwarming and as I haven't seen them properly for years it is has been some lovely escapism! Only got a few more episodes to watch.
Didn't sleep last night cos of coughing so went to the doctors this morning and got some antibiotics ... I hope they start working soon as I feel so rough and I want soon stop annoying everyone and myself with my constant coughing :( Dilly-Dog has been very sweet though and concerned when I wake up in the night coughing. She keeps trying to put her head across my neck, but that just makes it harder for me to breath ... very cute though.

Mum has been giving be elderberry & honey drinks ... very yumm .... tastes too good to be medicine :D

So this weeks Folksy Friday is DOGS or DOGGY-WOGGIES or WOOFS as my brother likes to call them!

Teri & I have been friends for many years even though we haven't seen each other for about 5. We keep in touch all the time via texts and the good old internet ... @rainbow_cottage is her twitter name if you want to pop by and say hi, I know she would love it if you do!

8 words that most describe you?
Creative, friendly, kind, caring, patient (mostly) fun ( I hope, that's what Mum said anyway hehe) Stubborn, Messy! that last one made mum and me laugh!

What do you make?

I make lots of things but mostly jewellery and cards. I last made a thank you card and a birthday card at my art group

What new craft would you like to try?

Well in the jewellery making line I would love to try Precious Metal Clay, Umm almost anything else I haven't tried I think, maybe stained glass? Not entirely sure.

What is the best present someone has ever given you?
For my last birthday my Parents commissioned a pastel portrait of my special doggy Dulcie! Something I can treasure forever! And while I'm talking about my doggy she too was a very special gift at a time when I was feeling very sad! I think the doggy beats the portrait :-)

Do you collect anything?

I've been collecting fans since I was about 6/7 I have lots some of which are hand painted and vintage. I started collecting porcelain dolls when I was 18 though sadly they are on top of my wardrobe at present as i have no where to display them and I collect Willow Tree ornaments.

What do you want more than anything right now?
to have my own house again and all the fun of making it a home

Were you named after anyone?
I was the opposite of named after anyone. When my parents were choosing names every one they chose my 7 year old brother would say " you can't have that name there's a girl at school who has that name and I hate her!" Then Mum thought of Tanya but my dad and brother pointed out that being a cockney she would often say " come here and I'll tan ya bottom for ya" My brother and I weren't given middle names but we chose our own later and I chose after much deliberation Emma-Claire.

Whats your favourite ice-cream flavour?

Mint choc chip
I hope you have enjoyed some randomness with Teri. Please check out her lovely shop and blog!

week 7
:: sign ::

These are my other sign photos ...

Well I am on my way home ... on a train watching the lovely British countryside go by. None of the seats had their reservation slips in the top and a guard has just been round putting them in .... he has just been on the tannoy apologizing for putting them in the wrong carriage! hehe
I have been staying with my lovely friend Tina this week in Cornwall and she wanted me to help her made some sweet little fairy decorations ... we didn't have time to make wings, but this is the one I made ...

Annabelle, my gorgeous little God-Daughter wanted one so I made one a little larger for her ...
... so I have chosen RAG DOLLS for my Folksy Friday collection this week!
A ~ Chloe Doll by WITH HUGS & KISSES
B ~ Rag Doll Jack by KATE'S ATTIC
C ~ Maelle Doll by MAISY MUFFIN RAG DOLLS
D ~ Matilda by DHARMAFLYER CREATIONS
E ~ Christmas Holly Raggedy Annie Doll by PLAIN PRIMITIVES
F ~ Sweet Bakin Sally by ISAACSATTIC

I have always loved rag dolls since I was a little girl ... far nicer to cuddle than a plastic doll!

week 6
:: autumn ::

These are the other photos I took, I really enjoyed taking the leaf photos!

Woke up with a stonker of a sore throat and I know it is here to stay ... I can feel the germs in my mouth doing a dance :(

Had a hot chocolate and walk in the wood with Sandy and Kai .... it was so lovely to catch up and have a proper chat. Made me miss Dilly even more though, she would have loved it!

Went into Truro on Wednesday and had a lovely time Christmas shopping. There are lots of shops that have changed and it did feel a bit weird being back there, but I managed to get the gifts I needed to get and had a yummy pasty for lunch :D
Well my long awaited holiday starts today .... I am Cornwall bound to visit some friends and have a few days. At the moment I am on the train .... has a plug for my lap top and phone (I like trains that do that!) but the free wi-fi is crap and doesn't work :(

The weather is lovely and as I love traveling I don't mind having to change so many times! I am missing Dilly already though!

12.16:
am just past Exeter and it feels like the track is on the water ... I always love this part of the journey. The sun is shining on the water and it is sparking in my eyes. My phone doesn't seem to grab the magic though :D

Oh Cornwall ... here I come! ...

It has been a very long time since I have made cards for pleasure (not to sell) and as most of my card making bits are still packed from moving I bought a few bit the other day. (I have never used bought/pre-designed bits before as always used my own) I haven't been that well over the last couple of days so though some relaxing card making was in order! ...
...well it would have been relaxing if my pens had worked!

Perfect thank you cards for the people I am staying with over the next few weeks!
The leaves are changing ... Autumn is here ... the colours are beautiful!

This has inspired me choose LEAVES for my Folksy Friday collection this week!
