I am so excited ... I have just bought a loom off eBay ... it hasn't arrived yet and I am hoping we have room for it! Here it is ...
... it may need a bit of cleaning etc, but I can't wait for it to arrive!

I have been doing a little more on my inkle loom ... making a bag strap for one of my mums bags ... all good practice .... not my favourite colours, but they match the bag ...

It is nice to make something for something, not just cos I want to do a bit of weaving :)

And tonight was class 4 of my weaving course, last week we warped up the looms ... that's putting very long threads on them ... and this week we had a go at patterns and textures ... this is mine so far ...

The natural wool at the bottom won't stay there, that is just to get good spacing at the beginning.
You can just see some of the patterns I have done, I am really pleased and it makes me even more impatient for my loom to arrive.
Next week is the last week :( and we will be doing more patterns and then taking them off the looms as little samples.

Having always used a laptop and never a computer that has a permanent place, I use a trug for keeping my bits in, like hard drives, camera lead, memory sticks, usb hub etc. It is really useful for just picking up and carrying into another room and keeping all the bits I need near me. The only problem that I have with it, is that it gets dusty ... we are a clean household, but it is moved round so much and plonked on the floor where ever I am.
Today I made a cover for it ... I am really pleased with it ... I crocheted it with some of the cream wool I had that I used for my weaving, and added ties to keep it on.
I am so pleased with it, although I do feel like I should be skipping through a wood on the way to my Grandma's with it full buns.
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
This week Collection from Folksy is some just simply some lovely bits.

It's my dad's birthday today ... 65, officially an old man ... but the best old man ever .... I can honestly say I have the best parents ever ... as a child they were fun, strong, wise, safe and always there. They made a lovely home for us to grow up in and my dad is the sort of dad who can make and fix anything.
Me & dad, taken about 10 years ago.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD ... I LOVE YOU LOTS & LOTS X

week 29
:: texture ::

these are the other photos I took ...
You remember letters, they come through the post from friends and family, full of news from their lives .... I used to do it quite a lot, then emails, texting, facebook and twitter came along and suddenly it was easier to keep up with people on line. Don't get me wrong, I love all of the above and facebook especially means I can keep up with people the other side of the world and its lovely. But I miss letters and worry that I will soon forget how to write them. I tend to only write letters twice a year, thank you letters after my birthday and Christmas and the odd postcard to by beautiful niece.

I have a box of letters under my bed, sent to me throughout my life .... I keep letters more than emails ... why? cos they seem more precious ... I could never get rid of the letters Nanny sent me or my Gran or great auntie ... letters my little brothers sent me when I went to America at the age of 18 ... precious memories.

One of my New Year goals was to keep in touch with people more and one way to do that is writing letters, so I am going to really try hard and write some letter before I forget how!
So watch out for the postman!!
I think Summer has come ..... too hot to wear a jacket while walking Dilly-Dolly-dog today ... and I was squinting in the sun too! I saw the sweetest ladybird walking on a branch on her way back to her home after a day out doing whatever ladybirds do
...... aren't ladybirds lovely and slightly magical!

I really hope this lovely weather is here to stay ... it made me want to dig out my flip flops (I don't do shoes ... its either boots in the winter or flip flops in the summer) .... and paint my toe nails!
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

here a few snaps from my phone this week ...

I can see hours of fun ahead!

Here are a couple of me ...
.... not sure I look right with blond hair, but I have always wanted to be in a period drama, I guess this is the closest I will get!

I went to my 2nd weaving class today, had great fun using an Inkle Loom ...
I know, it looks like an instrument of torture and very complicated, but its actually ok! It is for making narrow weaving like belts, straps, bookmarks, things like that.
This is what I made ... and yep, I am hooked ... I fear I will have to get me an Inkle Loom! hehe

It's my mum's birthday today and I just want to tell the world how wonderful she is and how when I grow up, I want to be just like her ... she is patient, generous, fun and beautiful.
