Something SPARKLY, something GLITTERY, something to bring light to a dull January .... this is what I made ....

... a crystal cluster bangle ... perfect for a wedding or a little black dress:)

I hope you link up anything you have made or photos you have taken.

I saw a friends status yesterday on facebook ... almost one month into my healthy eating and I have stuck to it apart from two days when I had to go to Yorkshire and I have lost exactly a stone! ... I am so pleased for her, but I do not know what I have done this last month ... I feel like I have just gone up and down a pound each week and a basically ending up after 4 weeks with no difference! ... I have not really had focus ... I don't really feel like I have achieved anything ... so as I enter in to week 5 of this year I am more determined than ever, I am going to be extra good ... extra focused ... extra healthy!
Speaking of healthy ... I need to start taking vitamins & supplements again ...

I was sooo good at this for years ... took them everyday ... but this last 18 months I have stopped ... I am not sure why ... but I have definitely noticed a difference since I have not been taking evening primrose oil ... so my goal for February is to remember to take them everyday.

I am just so spotty at the moment ... maybe I need to do a de-tox

... anyway happy dieting if you are on one and happy munching if you are not!

Have you come across POLYVORE yet? I discovered it back in the Summer, but have only just got round to having a play on there ...

... this is the outfit I have put together ... I would so love to have it ... but I have just noticed some of the prices ... the nail varnish is $210 and the earrings $2,150!! haha .... ahh well I am sure I can piece together a cheaper version ... don't the colours look beautiful though!

Let me know if you are on there ... I would love to see any collections you make :)

I took these the other day ... I never seem to be able to quite capture the colours :(

Well I did something stupid ... I weighed myself while I had my friend to stay ... my friend who comes every month ... makes me eat more ... makes me eat naughty things ... makes me swell up and makes me just want to curl up with a hot water bottle ... I knew I shouldn't have weighed ... she always makes me put on ... but I know its only cos she is here ... once she goes in a few days, I will be back to normal ......... so I will ignore my weigh in this morning ... it doesn't count!
My iPod nano arrived and I have done a few power walks, so I want to up that this week ... sadly the watch strap has not arrived yet, so I am just having to have it in my pocket as clipping it on to my clothes is too fiddly this time of year when you have gloves and a thick jacket on ... but I am expecting it to arrive tomorrow :)

I saw this photo on Pinterest ... this is the body I want to have ... this is my goal ;) ....... I have the right proportions .... I'm just 'slightly' larger! haha

Here is my photo of me for this week ... I am a bit flushed as I have just come in from walking home in the cold.
Lovely Glass ...... I have been looking for a cake stand for ages and I saw this one in my favourite antiques shop in town on Saturday.

Its not very big (16cm in diameter and 7.5cm tall)

It has a slight green tinge to it ... it was £6 ... and is in perfect condition :)

Saturday was also a good charity shop day ... I found this pair of pretty pink glass vases ... I have a bit of a weakness for pink glass, so I snapped these up.

... they were £2.49 the pair.

A couple of snaps from this week ...

Want to hear a weird story ... a weird coincidence ...

My dad has 4 sisters and when they were kids they went for holidays in Polperro, Cornwall. One year when he was about 15, he was with a couple of his sisters and watching the boats ... there was a man taking photos of the harbor ... my dad and his sisters asked if he wanted them to move, but he said no, they added to the photo. Later they got talking to the man and asked him what he did with the photos, he said 'all sorts, some are made into postcards, some jigsaws and some calendars.

Years went by and my auntie (one of his sisters who had been there that day) bought a second hand jigsaw of Polperro as it bought back memories of their lovely holidays there.

It wasn't until she was making it though, did she think 'I recognise that back .... that my brothers back!'

.... and there they were ... sitting watching the boats ... the three of them !!!

Spindles End by ROBIN MCKINLEY
I was so excited to start this book. I have loved every one of Robin McKinley's books that I have read so far and this adaptation of Sleeping Beauty was no disappointment. Sleeping Beauty is not one of my favourite fairy tails, there are parts of the story that I don't like .... that she did not grow up with her parents and the heartbreak that this would have caused them ... that she either didn't know the prince before he woke her up, or that they hardly knew each other (I like stories where couples get to know each other) in some versions the prince is a bit of a faceless character and we don't really know him ... but Robin has managed to handle these bits of the story well and as she always does, she has a twist at the end!

If you love fairy tails you will love this book, full of magic, family, great characters and romance.

I read late into the night and didn't want to turn out the light.

I printed out some spotty and diamond paper ... double sided so it showed as the paper as it twists :)

Last week was not a great diet week for me ... I was very tired, so ate a lot for energy ... not bad things ... just ate too much and lots in the evening which I know my body doesn't like when I am trying to lose weight ....... because of this I am not weighing myself this week.

I am back on track this week (so far!) and have been very good today. I have decided to write down what I eat ... I have never been great at counting calories or points (or whatever, depending what diet I am on) ... but this time I am not counting anything, but I am going to write down everything, just so I can see what I am eating and keep an eye on it.

I bought myself a diary from W.H. Smiths today ... (bit disappointing that when I looked online they were reduced, but when I went in the shop, they were still full price)

It is perfect thought ... small enough not to take up much room so I can take it where ever I go ... there are 2 days to one page (means I can't eat too much! haha) and the other page is for notes. I can write down how I am feeling or my weight or measurements ... or whatever I fancy! haha

(humm, my fingers look very green there ... think it must be the light 'cos I am normal colour really!)
I have also been wanting do more exercise ... I walk a lot already, and our cold wooden floor is no place to do keep fit DVD's. I also have a problem with running ... (long story to do with my knees ... the lower part of my legs facing outwards, causing pain ... and running just jars my knees) ....... but I have decided that power walking is the way to go. My gorgeous sister-in-law lost weight a few years ago and lots of power walking was involved.

To help with this I have treated myself to a iPod nano ... they are so tiny that it wont bounce around in my pocket while I exercise like my iPod classic does.

They also have a built in fitness-thing ... personal-trainer-thing ... not fully sure exactly all it does as it hasn't arrived yet ... only won it on eBay last night ...... for a bargain ;)

You can also wear the nano as a watch ... I love it! hehe ;)

Happy dieting if you are on one and happy munching if you are not ;) haha

Have you been to Ludlow?

I went there at Easter a couple of years ago, but had not been back since ... till today ... we spent all day there ... had lunch, and a lovely look around the shops. It is the prettiest town with some really lovely shops. It kinda reminded me of Lewis in East Sussex.

I bought a few things ... some on sale Christmas decorations ...

... a pretty handmade wooden necklace hanger ... to  stop all the tangles!

I also had a go a plaiting my fringe ... and it has stayed in all day!! I am amazed as usually because my hair is so thick, plaits, hair bands & clips never stay in long ...

I will definitely be wearing my hair like this again :) ... this photo was taken just now, so how it looks after a heavy day of shopping!

I hope you have had a lovely day.
I have seen that a lot of New Years Resolutions are to take more photos and I just wanted to invite anyone who is interested to join us/link up with a little photo project that's some friends and I do each week.
Its called Friendship Vignettes (or FV as we have shortened it too) and it started out with a friend of mine and me who hadn't seen each other for years, taking a photo on a theme that we had taken it in turns to pick.
It has now been going for over a year and we have now been joined by a few others ...... 70 weeks to be precise ... I just counted ...... I am quite chuffed as I haven't missed a week :)

To join us is very easy ... pop over to our blog or facebook page to catch up with the weeks theme. Take your photo and either blog it on your blog and link up on Thursdays (each week we have a post with a link available at the bottom) or you can upload it up to our facebook page ... or email it me and I will add it to the FV blog post.

These are my photos over the last 70 weeks ... can you guess what each theme is?

Originally we did try and make it so that we took as many photos outside as possible ... but that seems to sometimes have slipped by the wayside. I think I will try that as a goal for me again this year.

Well if you would like to join us, you would be most welcome and this weeks theme is METALLIC and next weeks theme is SHABBY.

Happy snapping x

Well I lost 1 lb this week ... that's not a lot ... not much really, but considering all I have done in the last 6 months is put on .... its really quite great! I want to lose more than 1 lb a week really, but for week 1 when there is still a lot of Christmas nibbles left and I still wanted to eat in the evening (by the end of the week, I was better) I am pretty happy .... hey ... its going in the right direction :)
I haven't measured yet, I must remember to do that tonight ... but I have been looking at hair styles ... I would just LOVE hair like this .... LOVE LOVE LOVE it ...
Anne Hathaway looking gorgeous.

I have also been looking at hair tutorials as I have been wanting to put more plaits in my hair ... this one is just gorgeous ... I think my hair is too long to tuck up at the end, but I could just have it continuing as a plait or ponytail down my shoulder.

I am going to practice

Well happy dieting if you are on one and happy munching if you are not ;) haha
