week 13 ... a very early morning, the sun was like a ball of fire, so beautiful!
in among the snow days, the rainy days, the foggy days and the frosty days this month, there have been some sunny days that we have all been enjoying ... here are some photos taken over the last month of some sunshine lovers!
our little wild kitten has grown so much and loves playing with Timber and Dilly :)
Timber is a lovely little fella and really loves Steve, he was so chilled out here watching Steve's dad trying out the lawn mower after they had just fixed it!
I got up this morning to the sound of new born lambs from just across the road ... it was so lovely to watch them!
here's hoping April is full of a lot more sunny days!
some of my latest makes ...
chunky rustic wooden coasters!
They are available from my
shop for £3.50 each. They measure 9cm x 9cm and 1.5cm deep. As each one is hand made they are all slightly different!
I have loads of other design ideas that I can't wait to try out :)
week 12 ... another sunrise ... taken yesterday ... look at all the birds! ... and yes, it was that blue!
M R Hall THE FLIGHT
I bought this book for Steve last year, along with some others, and he finished a few days before I finished my last book (
Digital Fortress by Dan Brown) and he wanted me to read it next so I have :)
The book follows Jenny, a Coroner based in Wales, who investigates a plane crash that happens on the Severn River. I enjoyed reading about places near-ish by me as most books like this are based in America. It took a lot of concentrating in some places, which I must admit late at night I did sometimes find hard, but I enjoyed reading and it wasn't till the very last few chapters did it become clear what had caused the crash. I was slightly disappointed with the end, as was Steve, but I would be interested in reading some of his other books to see what they are like!
living 10 miles from the nearest shop I like to keep stocked up in milk, bread and loo roll. We don't have much storage in our little cabin so I keep the loo rolls in a basket in the bathroom ... this has worked well till Timber-wolf came along and decided that loo rolls were a nice snack and started taking them off to destroy them!
so yesterday I decided to make a cover for the basket ... I took my inspiration from
the picture I made for the bathroom
I painted some fabric with flowers similar to those in the picture
and then sewed a simple lid with the design in the center!
I am really pleased with how it has turned out and I think Steve likes it too! so I am happy! :)
I love plants around the house and so luckily so does Steve :) but I do love them in pottery pots so I am always on the look out for a bargain pot. Last Wednesday mum and I had a little mooch around Kington where there are a few charity shops and was really pleased to come home with some that I love!
the urn type one was the most expensive, it was £5 but I just L-O-V-E it!!
the stoneware one was the most bargainous at only 50p (!!!) it has a flat back too and can hang on the wall. I was really please to find the cream one, which was £2 as it matches a white one that Steve and I found in a field near our home and looks lovely on the kitchen window sill. The little mug was only 75p and I bought it 'just cos' I love stoneware mugs!
this is the pot we found the other week ... it needed a good clean but is in perfect condition! :)
my dad-in-law gave me these lovely old tubs for the garden, there are 2 big round ones and this little stone one that looks really old
I bought the white ones a few years ago and they have been sitting empty for a while, so I am loving having them back out and full again!
a few weeks ago my lovely mum-in-law gave me a patten for a little knitted sheep. Her sister had given it to her. Her WI (I think it was the WI) were making them for the Welsh Show this summer and she thought I would like to make one or two too!
so I started one the other day and here she is ... she measures 8cm long and is 6.5cm tall.
her fleece comes off so if she get hot in this little bit of sun we have had she can strip!
I am tempted to make a whole flock!
They would make a lovely toy for a child as they are just the right size for little hands to hold :)
I love bacon and I love cheese and I used to make this loaf a lot, but its been a while so I thought I would try it again.
