ok so getting a new iPhone cover yesterday means I have had to make a new case as 'my little owl' cover is a little chunkier than my old cover.
so while settling down to watch the US elections last night I made a new cover (and not being able to sleep last night I stayed watching it till about 4.40am ... I know, I know ... stupid thing to do when I had to work today!)
I am really pleased with how it has turned out and I love the colours :)
and 'my little owl' phone is now warm for the winter ... well safe from getting scratched in my handbag!! ;)

as much as I can I like to buy handmade or local ... but you know some bargains are just too good to say no to ...
this fun iPhone case cost me £1.70 on eBay with free p&p! I love it ... I may see what other ones I can get as at that price I could have one to match what ever mood I am in!
I of course had to change my lock-screen photo to 'little owl' to match ;) and I will have to crochet another case for it as it is now too big for the one I used before and I don't want the screen to get scratched in my bag.

I have managed to let 4 cups of tea go cold today!! ... I get too engrossed in what ever I am doing ... wish me luck with this one! have a lovely evening everyone x

so I have found this really fun app ... its called MORFO ... it takes a photo of you ... you line up your eyes, nose and mouth and it makes you move .... and speak ... you can record yourself ... like this ...

its weird isn't it! just wish I had something worth saying!!

I would love to see any you make ... let me know if you have this app/get this app and make some funny ... or should that be 'weird' messages!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have been playing with an app I got a month ago but not really tried out much till now (yep, another camera app!) It's called PERCOLATOR and it makes your photos like its brewing a cup of coffee (it will make sense if you try it out)
This photo of me was the first photo I took on my iPad (which may I add I am doing my first blog post on)
I do look a bit like I a rabbit caught in the headlights! ... but I am really loving the effects and will the last photo makes me want to try and make a picture out of coloured buttons

Well, I have been sucked in ... and am now a bit of a fan ... sorry folks ;)

I have heard a lot of tweets and facebook comments about the Draw Something app, so this weekend when my brother and his wife came to stay, I persuaded them to get it too and we spent most of Friday night sending each other pictures. This was not easy for my poor sister-in-law who has a broken hand thumb and was drawing with her wrong hand ... but we did laugh a lot.

These are some of my pictures i have drawn for people to guess what the word is.


Some of them have the answer showing cos I took the picture when it was sent back to me showing that it had been guessed correctly.

I am not sure if my pictures are improving and I have seen some that people have done on the internet that are amazing ... its probably easier to do if you have an iPad rather than an iPhone, but its good fun :)

This starwars one is one my brother did for me to send to my friend (shhh ... don't tell her, she thinks I did it)


it a lot more fun when you have a few people sending you pictures, and I am amazed at how many of my facebook friends and family have this app ... but if you want to have a game with me, my user name is mariainthewood

I haven't drawn this much in ages :) haha

I've found another couple of apps ... yep one is another photography one ... camera apps are my one weakness!


This one is called my365 and is a photo a day project. You take a photo through the  app and it saves it to your calendar ... one a day ... it also lets you use a few filters on your pictures too.

I have only been using it for a week or so, but am already loving it :) I'm just hoping I can do it for 365 days!! .......... you can follow my daily pictures here in my links bar -------------------------->

I can not go to bed early no matter how hard I try.

I have a lovely new phone cover .... have you ever seen such a pretty one! I love loVE LOVE it :D


I am also really happy to have found that there is an app for Starquake ... its a game I used to play on my brother old Einstein computer while listening to Def Leppard. For years I have searched for a Mac version of the game, so I am so chuffed to see they have bought it out as an app :)


I'm not sure I will be as good as I used to, I used to know the map pretty much off by heart and completed it so many time ... but that was about 22 years ago! (eeek!)


... just something else to distract me from my to do list!

At the moment I am the only one in the house still up ... I am watching Death in Paradise (catch up tv) I am fighting the urge to pop into the kitchen and get something naughty to eat. I have been crossing a lot of things off my 'to do' list today which is always satisfying.

I had some nice post this morning ... An order from TRINKET BOX ... a Christmas present for one of my lovely sisters-in-law and a little something for me ...

A really pretty flower necklace ... I have been wearing it all day and I love it. You should so pop over to Sophie's shop and have a look at her gorgeous jewellery.

I had a lovely walk with dilly-dog ... planned on taking some photos while I was out but the light was not great and it was pretty dully and drizzly so I only took a few :( It is really winter now ... dark early and bitingly cold. I do love each season, I love watching the change in all the trees and how the countryside looks ... I just need to remember to take my gloves with me where ever I go!

I am a big lover of camera apps for my phone and have lots of them ... a recent one that I have got is called pho.to.lab
 and I have had fun playing with it ... these are some of the pictures I have made ...

I just downloaded a very cool app for my iPhone .... it is called OldBooth and it can add you to old photos, making you look like you were from 100 years ago!
I can see hours of fun ahead!


Here are a couple of me ...

I managed to do a bit more knitting last night and have made and arm (well most of it) ...
... so one more arm to do and then do the neck and sew it together :D

I do ... its very sad I know, but I love my phone lots and lots ...
 I have had it now for just over 2 years and although I look after it, it has developed a small crack by the mute switch :(
I have been looking on eBay for a clip-on case that will protect it and I don't want it to get any worse, and I found this beauty ...
... divine isn't it! ... I was delighted when it arrived yesterday and the lovely seller had included another one too! She sent me a message, saying she had been planning on reducing them, so sent me a spare! (it was only about £5 anyway and that included p&p!)
So I now have another too for when I fancy a change ... Sadly though with this clip on back to it, my iPhone does not fit in the case I have for it, so last night I made this ... 
 ... I crocheted it out of scraps of wool left over from the cushion cover I made last month!
I am really pleased with it ... its lovely and soft and will hopefully protect my beloved phone for a little longer!
