dilly-dog

I have a Dilly-Dog ... some of you may think that that she is a chocolate Cocker Spaniel ... but she isn't ... she is a Dilly-Dog ... thats what everyone calls her ... that what everyone says when they see a Cocker Spaniel ... especially a brown one!

She has some funny ways as I am sure all dogs do ... one of her passions is geology ... she loves large stones ... stones she can only just fit in her mouth ... she finds them on walks and then trots around with them ... I say trot because her bum goes up in the air to balance the weight of the stone and she trots. She does get worried if someone gets too close to her & her stone and will run away with it ... she can't understand that I am not wanting her treasure! She made me laugh so much the other day ... the stone was really huge and she was determined to bring it home. When we got back I let her out into the garden with it ... she walked in slow motion and turned to see if I was watching her ... I backed away and watched her through the sunroom window ... she got to the end of the garden but saw me watching and she froze ... I went to take my coat off and and then popped back ... she was busy burying it in the veg patch ... keeping it safe ... just in case someone wanted to steal her precious stone!

Aww she is such a funny thing .......... but a real sweetie ... wouldn't change anything about her ... and I won't tell anyone where she has hidden it ... her secret is safe with me!

  1. Aww, she is precious. So cute how they all have their little quirks! I have never had a dog but I would love one. I need to find somewhere to live first before even thinking about it though! Xxx

  2. Hi I don't know if you remember me but I sent you a photo a while back of Georgia (Dilly's little sister). Well I just stumbled on to your blog again and wanted to say hi! They are so very similar...Georgia often goes on 'stone patrol' and we have many of them on display at home :)

    1. Hi Helen, I totally remember you ... I still have those photos of the gorgeous Georgia somewhere on my laptop! I am so thrilled you have found me again! How is Georgia? My brother and sister in law have Gracie who is their half sister (same dad, different mum) she is black and so cute.

    2. Oh how lovely! Briarcarn doggies are the cutest! Georgia is really well thank you and we also have a little boy now Charlie (from Jess and Digby's 2007 litter). They are double the trouble and double the silliness :)I can't imagine life without them though. You have the most beautiful photos of Dilly. She seems the sweetest little girl! The stones really made me laugh as Georgia is just the same, Charlie prefers big logs but he is a boy. How is Dilly doing?
