magpie monday :: windows, doors and an amazing view

Some of you may know that Steve and I are doing up our log cabin and making it into a lovely home ... we do believe we are now at the end of what Steve would say is our never ending search for windows! We bought 4 lovely wooden windows from eBay the other month (the bottom windows in the pictures below) ... they are perfect for what we wanted and I am so excited that Steve has 3 of them fitted already ... well as with lots of projects and working it out as we go along, plans change and we have decided to add a veranda to one end so we can sit on a swing and look at the stunning view down the valley ... this has meant that we are changing where some of the windows go and need a double sliding door too ... good old eBay came up trumps again, Steve found sliding doors in a near by town and also a lovely large window to go next to them (the windows in the brick wall) and some TOTAL bargains ... the top window is for the bathroom ... 99p folks! yep 99p! and the window below the brick wall one for the kitchen was only £5! The door is ceder and worth over £2000 and guess what we won it for ... £1.20!

My parents were off this weekend visiting one of my brothers in York and the kitchen window was on their way home so they picked that up and on Saturday, Steve and I went for a drive around to pick the others up ... it was a lovely day so we decided to take dilly-dog with us :) it was our first family adventure and dilly was as good as gold and just loved being with us ... she helped navigated ...

and slept a little ;)

we called into a little cafe after picking up the door and sat out side with Dilly ... the lovely ladies that worked there came out with a bowl of water for her then a few minutes later a plate with a cut up sausage! There are some lovely people out there!

On the way home we stopped off a Church Stretton for a delicious ice-cream and a walk around the town. Steve had the brain wave of driving up Cardingmill Valley to look at the views ... it was totally sheer on one side (not my side luckily) but totally breath taking!

We stopped off so Dilly could have a run around ... I only had my phone to take pictures, but would love to go back with my camera!
