magpie monday and a moodboard

I had a lovely time pottering around a carboot sale a couple of Sunday's ago ... these are the bits I got ...

We had this jigsaw when I was little ... Kings and Queens of England ... it had a piece missing as mum had bought it from a jumble sale when we were kids ... this one though the seller assured me is all there ... so I bought it for nostalgia's sake :) .... only 50p

These 2 box frames were £1 for the pair ... not keen on the rather dull grasses that are in them, but I got them for the frames ... I bought a couple of box frames from the art shop this week for a lot more than £1 for a couple of projects I am going to share on my craft blog in the next few months. Not sure what I will do with these 2 but I am sure something will come to me ;)

... and now for the china ... you knew it was coming didn't you! hehe

This plate is by Alfred Meakin and a really unusual shape ... only £1 ... and goes with a couple of things I already have :D

But these are my real bargains ... I found a seller that had 2 plastic boxes of tea plates ... all marked at 20p each ...

It was one of the first stalls I stopped at

Didn't want to overload my self as we had quite a walk home

So I only bought 4 ... but I love them all!

And this bracelet was 50p and I bought it for the beads ... not sure what I am going to do with them yet, but I will make something from them :D

So all-in-all very happy with my purchases and I only spent £3.80!

Happy thrifting!

all these pretty plates make me think of afternoon tea in the summer, so I have made a SUMMER TIME moodboard ...

  3. I would love that jigsaw - I can never remember our kings and queens in the right order.

Also loving your china as usual especially the flowery plates. They're all very me (love floral) but i think the last one is my absolute fave! I would put it on the wall!

  5. Well done on the box frames - they are so expensive and I always buy frames when I see them for one-day-projects!

Love your china too. Since you posted a few weeks back I keep seeing that white and gold pattern everywhere I go!

  6. Nice find on the puzzle. Even if you only keep the box to remind you of nice childhood memories.
It must have been hard to stop at 4 plates, but I know about considering carry weight when purchasing. I never did find the craft project I ahd seen using orphaned plates but in my search have so many more wonderful ideas. I need to get a post together and share.
