There is a new shop in town ... only opened a few months
It is called THE SHEEP SHED and is full of natural fleeces, wool, peg looms, handmade crafts and LARGE knitting needles!
I had go ... managed to knit a row before my arms ached (this was a month ago)
I was there with some old friends and they treated me to my own pair of large needles ... there were lots of sizes to choose from, but in the end I went for some 18mm ones and are 63cm (24 1/2 inches) long.
This is me doing my first row.
I have had a play with my first ball of wool while deciding what to make on them and have decided to make a rug ... a knitted rug ... this week I stocked up on wool ...
... and got knitting ... it is going to have a few different stripes each end like this ...
... and the centre is going to be moss stitch ...
... I will need to line the back when its done ...
... and I may add tassels each end (depends how much wool I have left)
When I called in to get the wool I noticed they had giant crochet hooks ........... yep I am tempted ... hehe
